Supporting Summit’s Family Fund is a mark of pride in ensuring our children receive an excellent education true to our mission, and that Summit continues to thrive for future generations. Your gift to the Family Fund is an investment in the defining qualities of a Summit education.
2019-20 Family Fund Goal = $140,000
Our goal is to raise $140,000 to support the qualities of a Summit education that set us apart. Our target giving level is an average of $755 per student in order to raise $140,000 to meet our operating goal this year. This represents 7% of the total per child cost of a Summit education— the equivalent of $95 per month for 8 months, or just over $3 per day!
Impact of Giving
To provide our children an educational program true to our mission requires $11,820 in funding per student. As a charter school, our local funding is only 75% of that of traditional public schools, therefore sustaining our program requires funding through multiple sources.
The Family Fund ensures we are able to close our public funding gaps and sustain the qualities of a Summit education that have been integral to our mission since our founding:
Grade-by-Grade Contest
We are excited to once again include a grade-by-grade contest this year! The first class to reach 100% participation will get to enjoy a class outing to the movies, while the grade with the highest combined average participation rate and giving-to-goal rate will get to go to Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Asheville! Give, Raise, Find
There are multiple ways families can contribute to our Family Fund!
Give: Contributions can be made as direct dollar gifts to Summit, either as a single contribution or as monthly or weekly contributions of smaller amounts. We recognize that investing in the Family Fund is a financial commitment. Our target giving level of $755 per child is the equivalent of $95 per month for 8 months, or just over $3 per day!
Raise: Contributions can be made through additional fundraising activities that families may organize. Last year, Summit families successfully organized raffles and our inaugural Cinco de Mayo event to raise funds toward the Family Fund. We are excited to continue these events in this year’s campaign, and welcome other ideas, as well. The Family Fund team is happy to work with families who may have fundraising ideas to support their Family Fund contribution.
Find: If you know community or family members who may be interested in supporting the Family Fund, third party contributions can be applied toward a family’s contribution. Please consult with Melissa Hudson, our Development Director, if you are considering pursuing donations through community members.
